A leading Italian biscuit manufacturer specialized in no-added-sugar and low-fat biscuits was looking for a malted solution to compensate for lack of color and weak taste — a double challenge.

Diamaltone — in this case Diamaltone Dark 60 — was the solution, bringing altogether a typical brown biscuit color and caramelized taste. The result was made possible thanks to a complex blend of several special malt flours and malt extracts.

Diamaltone’s color range grades from a minimum Light 20 to intense Dark 300. Strength of taste ranges from smooth to strong depending on dosage.
